Job description 

The firm is searching for a Temporary Administrative Assistant to support part of our Investment Banking Group. The main responsibilities would include managing expense reports, scheduling, adhoc reporting, and having a proactive mindset in order to help stay steps ahead of business needs. The Firm is looking for an individual who has knowledge of the BSA/Patriot Act and has some experience in AML Compliance. Draft and negotiate various forms of legal IT contracts, including service agreements, outsourcing agreements, software and data licensing agreements, consulting agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and hardware purchase agreements as well as legal communications, and other legal documents. Draft and update, when needed, privacy policies and terms of use for websites of internal clients. Assist with contract documentation flow, approvals, and reporting consistent with internal processes. Partner with business and technology teams to negotiate and close third party vendor contracts. Tax Compliance Manager

Location: New York, NY

The Manager of Tax Compliance will be responsible for managing the preparation and filing of our Federal and State income tax returns. This individual must have experience with US partnership allocations and US partnership reporting (1065).   • Provide tax input for financial budgets, imputed income, quarterly tax dashboard, cash tax and forecasts
  • Ensure the proper documentation is prepared and continually monitor the controls and modify the processes as needed.
  • Analyze the facts and circumstances of significant book transactions and determine applicable tax treatment in accordance with the relevant tax authority.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in tax compliance, with an emphasis on partnership returns (1065s) and partnership allocations in a national/regional public accounting firm

Preferred Qualifications:

Tax Intern

This is a paid internship. We are seeking a student currently enrolled in the Masters in Tax program or an MBA with a concentration in taxation.   The ideal candidate should have some work experience but not limited to tax and a working knowledge of excel.  The ideal candidate should have an interest in pursuing a career in tax and be willing to work on both tax accounting and other tax projects such as research, memo writing, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing US Federal, International and State income tax returns.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly tax provision – this includes formatting, printing and binder prep as well as running through some basic calculations as it relates to the provision.
  • Assist in preparing cumulative earnings and profit for several entities.
  • Assist in rolling forward all schedules for quarter-end.  i.e. changing dates in schedule to reflect the current, etc
  • Update calculation of uncertain tax positions (i.e., FIN 48 calculations)
  • Update cost sharing documentation requirements under the new regulations. 
  • Prepare adhoc tax forms as needed such as W8-BEN-E, estimated payments, etc
  • Prepare check requests for tax payments, document the tax payment in a spreadsheet used for the 10K, and mail payment.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as required.  This includes filing and maintaining documents on our shared drive, such as scanning copies of tax returns from all regions for current year (if needed).

The Legal Entity Controller is an integral member of the finance team, reporting directly to Financial Controller, participating in the accounting and finance processes and controls over internal and external financial reporting, regulatory reporting, operations, and product control. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Interaction with SEC reporting, Corporate Accounting, Regulatory Reporting, Product Control, Treasury and Cash Management in order to ensure proper accounting;
  • Responsible for month-end close process and journal entries associated with investing activities, financing activities, consolidation of subsidiaries, expense accruals, intercompany activities and income taxes;
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements for external financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP;

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly analytical reporting including commentary on balance sheet and P&L variances;

Front Office Business Analysis & Reporting Analyst

The Front Office Business Analysis & Reporting (BA&R) Analyst will support the Front Office BA&R Manager, Managing Director and global CFO, as well as Business Management across all divisions.

Corporate Accounting Financial Analyst

Location: New York, NY

Description

  • Strong analytical and conceptual accounting skills, demonstrating the ability to effectively identify problems and generate solutions.
  • Demonstrate high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and Oracle applications
  • Responsible for creating, reviewing and posting journal entries including cash, accruals, prepaid expenses, loans, partnership transactions, and payroll.
  • Provide invoice coding instructions to accounts payable department for non-recurring Oracle AP payments. 
  • Review and provide the proper GL account coding on vendor invoices billed on company’s facilities, utilities, rent, fixed assets, insurance, and other operating charges. 
  • Process certain corporate expense allocations
  • Prepare, review and reconcile monthly accruals for market data, communications, fixed assets, insurance, prepaid expenses, employee benefits, occupancy accruals, and lease obligations. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for these accounts.
  • Prepare Cash/bank account reconciliations 
  • Perform various banking functions which include uploading manual checks, voiding checks, issuing stop payments, reviewing positive pay exceptions, and releasing payments. 
  • Upload banking transactions in positive pay system and clear exception on a daily basis. 
  • Prepare P&L variance analysis for monthly Finance Department P&L review meetings
  • Reconcile US and Canadian employee payroll accounting through Oracle system including general ledger coding, mapping verification, reviewing journal ledgers and monthly payroll and employee benefit accounts reconciliation. 
  • Support Financial Planning & Analysis group by analyzing and comparing balance sheet and income statement trends and variances by investigating unusual and material inconsistencies. 
  • Distribute daily intercompany balance report; work with legal entity controllers to ensure intercompany breaks are cleared on a timely basis.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, internal auditors, compliance, legal and the tax departmnts to provide documentation for quarterly and annual auditing requests. 
  • Prepare management reports and assist in preparing supporting schedules for 10-Qs, 10-Ks and requested documents for FINRA and CFTC requirements/filings. 

Education

  • Accounting Degree
  • CPA a plus

Requirements

  • 2-4 years accounting experience.

 Senior Accountant - Real Estate/Finance

Cantor Real Estate Investment Management is a real estate and alternative investment management firm, focused on the acquisition, financing, and management of commercial real estate properties and other real estate-related assets. Our platform develops public and private real estate-based investment programs, intended for distribution at the retail level through a network of independent broker dealers and registered investment advisors.
 
The Senior Accountant is an integral member of the finance team, reporting directly to the Controller, participating in the accounting and finance processes and controls over internal and external financial reporting, regulatory reporting, operations and product control in relation to Real Estate Investment Management platform.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the Controller as a shared service model by utilizing internal finance team (AP, treasury etc.) , external fund administrator(s) and external transfer agent(s) activities for private placements, public nontraded interval funds, and public nontraded real estate investment trusts (REITs) which includes:
    • Bookkeeping and processing of fund transactions
    • Calculation and disbursement of brokerage commissions
    • Calculation and disbursement of management fees (incentive and base mgmt. fees) and investor distributions
    • Responsible for internal and external financial reporting for all funds/products as well as for the overall investment management businesses
    • Preparation of monthly and quarterly analytical executive reporting including commentary on balance sheet and P&L movements
    • Preparation of financial statements for Cantor managed funds (private placements and financing vehicles) and public nontraded funds (interval funds and REITS) 
    • Work with the Controller and external experts such as financial statement auditors, tax accountants as well as the regulator reviews / audits.

  • 2-4 years of fund accounting experience (real estate equity and real estate related debt products a plus).  Specific experience with the following structures: Reg D 506(b) issuances, nontraded REITs, nontraded closed end interval funds (including master-feeder). Preferable but not required.
  • Advanced analytical and Excel capabilities, project management skills, and ability to multitask 
  • Critical thinking, team oriented views, attention to detail, communication skills, business writing and project management

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree PLUS minimum 3 years of experience in an investment banking analyst position or prior experience as an investment banking associate; OR
  • MBA or equivalent graduate degree in a financial discipline
  • Current or recent experience in an investment banking role or equivalent position
  • Current or recent healthcare industry experience

  • Outstanding academic record 
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written 
  • Strong analytical orientation, with experience performing financial and valuation analysis in Excel or comparable spreadsheet tools 
  • Demonstrable commitment to and experience with working in teams 
  • Demonstrated interest in finance and financial markets 
  • Demonstrated interest in healthcare / medical field through professional and/or academic experience
  • Series 63 and 79 certified

Analyst, Business Development & Corporate Finance

Description:

Conduct market research/analyses, evaluate investment opportunities, prepare project materials and complete various industry and financial analyses. Assist in preparation of financial models/projections and returns analyses for current and proposed GGAM projects, including multiple projects in Asia. Prepare presentation materials and memos for both internal and external use. Prepare various trading and operating comparable analyses with respect to gaming companies and properties in different markets. Assist in preparation of submission materials for government bidding processes in jurisdictions of interest. Prepare market sizing analyses for potential projects addressing key considerations including market demographics, addressable population size, and transportation connectivity. Gather and analyze applicable research/data/industry reports with respect to market sizing and financial analyses. Assist in preparation and management of all due diligence materials required for project financings time. 

Education:

Master’s degree in Finance, Management Science or related 

Requirements:

Minimum of 18 months banking analyst experience with financial modeling and accounting background. Must have experience with the following: mergers & acquisitions transactions; building financial models including Discounted Cash Flow, Public Trading Comparables, Precedent Transaction Comparables, Merger model and Leveraged Buyout model; preparing investment presentations and internal memos; debt financing transactions, company due diligence processes, and  Credit analysis.
