Job description

The firm is searching for an Administrative Assistant to support Senior Managing Directors. AML Compliance Associate

The Firm is looking for an individual who has knowledge of the BSA/Patriot Act and has some experience in AML Compliance. Real Estate Capital Markets Compliance Officer

Tax Compliance Manager

Location: New York, NY

The Manager of Tax Compliance will be responsible for managing the preparation and filing of our Federal and State income tax returns. This individual must have experience with US partnership allocations and US partnership reporting (1065). Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Review (at times prepare) and finalize Federal, International and State income tax returns with an emphasis on 1065 Federal and NY state income tax returns.

  • Review provision to return true-up calculation upon filing of the tax returns.
  • Review 1040-NR based on partnership allocations
  • Prepare and manage the Tax compliance calendars, quarterly estimated tax payments, and monthly reporting of cash taxes.
  • Liaise with the tax accounting team for cash taxes and payments, analyzing net operating loss carryovers, credits, valuation allowances based on return filings.
  • Work closely with co-source service provider to identify opportunities for process and automation improvements and help develop and implement the improvements.
  • Provide tax input for financial budgets, imputed income, quarterly tax dashboard, cash tax and forecasts
  • Ensure the proper documentation is prepared and continually monitor the controls and modify the processes as needed.
  • Analyze the facts and circumstances of significant book transactions and determine applicable tax treatment in accordance with the relevant tax authority.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in tax compliance, with an emphasis on partnership returns (1065s) and partnership allocations in a national/regional public accounting firm

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA designation preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of programs, specifically Excel
  • Working knowledge of Oracle software used for general ledger

Tax Intern

This is a paid internship. We are seeking a student currently enrolled in the Masters in Tax program or an MBA with a concentration in taxation.   The ideal candidate should have some work experience but not limited to tax and a working knowledge of excel.  The ideal candidate should have an interest in pursuing a career in tax and be willing to work on both tax accounting and other tax projects such as research, memo writing, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing US Federal, International and State income tax returns.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly tax provision – this includes formatting, printing and binder prep as well as running through some basic calculations as it relates to the provision.
  • Assist in preparing cumulative earnings and profit for several entities.
  • Assist in rolling forward all schedules for quarter-end.  i.e. changing dates in schedule to reflect the current, etc
  • Update calculation of uncertain tax positions (i.e., FIN 48 calculations)
  • Update cost sharing documentation requirements under the new regulations. 
  • Prepare adhoc tax forms as needed such as W8-BEN-E, estimated payments, etc
  • Prepare check requests for tax payments, document the tax payment in a spreadsheet used for the 10K, and mail payment.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as required.  This includes filing and maintaining documents on our shared drive, such as scanning copies of tax returns from all regions for current year (if needed).

Human Resources Intern

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of new hires, status change, and transfers in ORACLE (HRIS) for assigned population and forward appropriate paperwork to payroll securing required signatures for timely processing.
  • Process on-boarding paperwork (I-9/E-Verify, W4, Handbook, etc.) verify documents are received and filled out correctly.

Role Description

Legal Entity and Product Controller - is a new role in the Canadian Finance and Operations team, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer of the Canadian office.  This generalist role will encompass all aspects of accounting and finance processes and controls over internal and external financial reporting, regulatory reporting, operations, product control and underwriting syndication accounting and analysis.   The role is extremely broad, exposing the candidate to nearly every aspect of an institutional type IIROC member’s operations.  The role will be attractive to an individual who is interested in variety and breadth of responsibilities rather than a narrow role of focused duties.  The chosen candidate will receive, as required, hands on training, support and guidance directly from the incumbent CFO.  

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

Financial Analyst - Corporate Accounting

Description

  • Strong analytical and conceptual accounting skills, demonstrating the ability to effectively identify problems and generate solutions.

  • Prepare P&L variance analysis for monthly Finance Department P&L review meetings
  • Reconcile US and Canadian employee payroll accounting through Oracle system including general ledger coding, mapping verification, reviewing journal ledgers and monthly payroll and employee benefit accounts reconciliation. 
  • Support Financial Planning & Analysis group by analyzing and comparing balance sheet and income statement trends and variances by investigating unusual and material inconsistencies. 
  • Distribute daily intercompany balance report; work with legal entity controllers to ensure intercompany breaks are cleared on a timely basis.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, internal auditors, compliance, legal and the tax departmnts to provide documentation for quarterly and annual auditing requests. 
  • Prepare management reports and assist in preparing supporting schedules for 10-Qs, 10-Ks and requested documents for FINRA and CFTC requirements/filings. 

Education

  • Accounting Degree

IT Audit Manager

Fixed Income Compliance Analyst - Sales & Trading Supervision

Description:

Design, develop and test Oracle applications in Finance and HR modules. Responsible for full cycle implementations and production support of Core HRMS, Oracle Advanced Benefits (OAB), Payroll, Employee and Manager Self Services and Oracle Payroll. Develop complex APIs and interfaces in Oracle PL/SQL to convert newly acquired companies and develop adhoc scripts in PL/SQL to manage data loads. Develop custom product for managing compensation and bonus cycles within the organization in JSP/J2EE framework. Extend custom pages for Employee Self services in OAF (Oracle Applications Framework). Responsible for end to end benefits implementations, conversions and open enrollment projects. Provide production support for Oracle HRMS. Design and develop custom workflows – create new processes, business events, custom notifications to meet HR processes.
