Cantor Fitzgerald Europe Continues Its Expansion in the UK With Key Hires
London, UK - April 20, 2010 – Cantor Fitzgerald announced today its continued expansion into the Fixed Income, High Yield & Leveraged Finance market in Europe. Sebastian Bourgeois, Catherine Da Silva JoJo Thirasilpa join a growing team strengthening Cantor’s global presence.

Sebastien Bourgeois joins as Managing Director, head of Leveraged Credit Research, from Cheyne Special Situations where he was a Portfolio Manager focusing on credit investments, both performing leverage loans and bonds (European issuers with an emphasis on heavy industrials and companies linked to commodities such as paper, chemicals or oil services) and special situations such as US subprime real estate bonds or private equity in windfarm developers. Earlier he worked in the European Special Situations Group at Goldman Sachs focusing on distressed investments, in the UK and also in France. He previously worked at Goldman Sachs on the London Commodities desk.
He obtained a PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago and is also a graduate from the Ecole Normale Supérieure (Ulm) and HEC School of Management.

Catherine Da Silva joins as a Managing Director on the High Yield, Distressed and Leveraged loan team focusing on UK and Continental European accounts. Previously, she was at Lehman Brothers in High Yield sales to European accounts before co-setting up the hedge fund credit sales desk dedicated to UK and US based hedge funds. She started her career at Merrill Lynch as distressed debt research analyst. Ms. Da Silva holds a Masters in Management from EDHEC School of Management and a post grad Diploma in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics.

JoJo Thirasilpa joins as Director in European Leveraged Capital Markets, responsible for the origination, execution and restructuring of loans, mezzanine debt and high yield bonds.
Mr. Thirasilpa has several years of experience in leveraged finance and restructurings, comprising leveraged buyout and acquisition financings as well as corporate recapitalizations. Most recently he was at Credit Suisse, responsible for the origination and execution of leveraged finance transactions. He also was responsible for restructuring several of Credit Suisse's proprietary risk positions in distressed situations. Previously, he was a Vice President in Lehman Brothers’ Leveraged Finance Group in London and an Associate in Paribas's Leveraged Finance Group in London and San Francisco.
He has an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA and an AB in Economics and Religion from Amherst College.
