George Goncalves Joins Cantor Fitzgerald As Managing Director And Head Of Fixed Income Rates Strategy

New York, June 8, 2009 - Cantor Fitzgerald & Co. announced today that George Goncalves has joined its Debt Capital Markets team as a Managing Director & Head of Fixed Income Rates Strategy.  Mr. Goncalves, who was voted by Institutional Investor in 2007 as one of the top twenty rising fixed income professionals worldwide, will be responsible for spearheading the creation of a strategy team at Cantor as well as developing trading strategies for Cantor's fixed income clients and trading desks. Mr. Goncalves will report into Brian Edmonds, Head of the primary dealer's interest rates product division.

Mr. Goncalves will offer our clients a suite of strategy offerings ranging from market commentary, product notes and strategy trade ideas across the rates markets (ranging from Government bond securities to Agency-related products). He will also continue to conduct educational and industry seminars on behalf of Cantor. Mr. Goncalves analyzes the market using a combination of economic fundamentals, global macro flows and technical insights all of which help to drive his strategy offerings.

Trading strategy solutions is a new and growing product area at Cantor, one which will build upon the successes of our trading and sales teams. Mr. Goncalves' diverse bond market and strategy experience will further strengthen our position to best serve our clients as well as demonstrate that Cantor is committed to being a full service platform. Prior to joining Cantor, Mr. Goncalves held similar fixed income research & strategy positions, most recently at Morgan Stanley and Banc of America Securities.  Prior to becoming a research analyst and strategist, Mr. Goncalves was an assistant fixed income portfolio manager with Merrill Lynch Asset Management focused on the front-end of the curve and money market products. Mr. Goncalves graduated Rutgers School of Management in 1998 with a Finance & Economics degree.
