Mr. Kimmel joined Cantor this past summer to develop and lead the firm’s entrance into prime brokerage and clearing.  Cantor has created a multi-asset Prime Services platform across equities, fixed income and futures to support hedge funds, broker dealers, professional traders, money managers, proprietary trading desks and REIT’s.

Career Background
Mr. Kimmel joined Cantor from JP Morgan where he served as North American Head of Sales and Marketing for the Fixed Income Prime Brokerage division of their Global Prime Services business.  At JP Morgan, that division was comprised of fixed income securities prime brokerage, credit and interest rate derivatives intermediation, and foreign exchange and commodities prime brokerage.  Prior to JP Morgan, he was a Senior Managing Director at Bear, Stearns & Co., where he co-headed the Fixed Income Prime Brokerage division. He was responsible for the sales & marketing aspects of the business and a member of the Prime Brokerage Operating Committee.  At Bear, he also served as a member of the Senior Relationship Management Group, Bear’s firm-wide effort to broadly cover the top 100 hedge fund clients and act as intermediary between client needs and the firm’s resources.

Prior to rejoining Bear Stearns in 2004, (where he began his career in 1989), Mr. Kimmel served in both management and senior trading roles at SAC Capital Advisors, LLC, Bankers Trust Company and Fuji Securities.
