One of the key topics at Cantor’s Crypto & Disruptive Finance Conference was Web3 and the exciting applications it will enable. Cantor’s Josh Siegler moderated the panel, ‘DAOs, NFTs, Metaverse – What is the future of Web3 and what are use cases?’ featuring Kelly Dolyniuk, COO of Propy Inc., Christopher Perkins, President and Managing Partner of CoinFund, Alexander Modell, Co-Founder & COO of Remaster, and Aditya Dave, Investment Analyst at Republic Capital.

Key take-aways included:
• Two use cases that the panel discussed were the tokenization of homeownership through NFTs and the implementation of smart contracts in the legal field. However, it was stressed that these are just the start. Potential new use cases are constantly being developed as some of the flaws of centralized institutions are addressed by developer entrepreneurs.

• Some ways that investors and advisors can get involved in Web3 innovation is by providing necessary expertise around regulation, treasury management, KYC/AML, capital allocation and more. These will be key areas as regulatory and operational frameworks develop alongside the technology.
