“First and foremost I want to thank Cantor Fitzgerald Relief fund for giving me the opportunity to part of a phenomenal act of kindness. This past weekend I came across various families and many explained how important these funds were for them, some were able to purchase shoes for their kids, beds and others pay for medical expenses. The Relief program Volunteers were all very friendly, pleasant and it also was a great way to network.”

“What a great feeling to be able to bring help to so many people who are still trying to recover from the devastation. The money we brought these families will help them with the bare necessities that we take for granted. It was a humbling experience. Everyone I had an opportunity to speak to was extremely appreciative of our efforts.”

Many thanks for all of your hard work getting the trip organized. I hope the outreach to the San Juan community will help in some meaningful, albeit small way.”

“The Cantor Fitzgerald relief fund experience in Puerto Rico was simply awesome. The event was such a moving experience that brought joy, hope and happiness, and those are memories that I will cherish my whole life. The whole logistics of the event was impressive, and I think that was the key factor that lead to this great and successful weekend. I’m forever grateful for this opportunity and I just want to congratulate you for the incredible job that you did.”

“Cantor Relief Fund’s efforts in Puerto Rico were simply magnificent. Just over 200 people flew into San Juan with the same objective: instill hope and love into the hearts of strangers. After what was the most catastrophic storm in these people’s lives, we were able to provide not only financial support, but also a reminder that their voices and cries for help have been heard. It started at the top, where Howard, Edie, and Allison worked tirelessly with Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz to choose the families most in need, the distribution location, and how it was all going to be done. From there, the new alliance went straight to work ironing out logistics and preparing the Coliseo Roberto Clemente for the influx of people. Us volunteers, we had the easy part. We simply ushered families through the arena to grab their cards, then guided them back out. But, what outsiders didn’t see is the immediate connection that volunteers and aid receivers shared. Endless hugs, handshakes, high fives, and tears filled the Coliseo with a sense of familiarity; it felt like we knew these people, that their pain was our pain and their excitement was our excitement. The opportunity to share this experience with my fellow employees is one that I will talk about for the rest of my life. As a Puerto Rican American with immediate family members living on the island, I cannot help but feel like the Cantor Relief Fund sought out to help ME. These “strangers” and their culture have shaped my childhood, and the island has given me so much to be grateful for throughout the years. And now, at almost 23 years old, I finally had the chance to return the favor. What an unforgettable experience, and I cannot wait to see what the Relief Fund has in store for the future.”

“Compassion. Respect. Generosity. Love. Hope.  These are the words that come to mind when I think of the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund handing out $1,000 cards to nearly 4,000 families impacted by the hurricanes in Puerto Rico. Helping people pays the biggest dividend of all.

The logistics of managing that many volunteers to help that many families and the coordination with local authorities was tremendous and the team from Cantor did it flawlessly and with great professionalism—and style!  What a great group of employees from Cantor and the Relief Fund.

The volunteers had the right attitude of service, kindness and respect to the people of Puerto Rico and they reminded them that they were not forgotten.

Thanks so much for letting me be a part of this tremendous effort.”

“I was so happy to be included in the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund Puerto Rico Family Relief Program in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

I can’t easily express how wonderful it felt to be one of the volunteers.

We treated the families with respect and dignity, which they greatly appreciated.

I used my Spanish skills for a worthy cause!

One of my colleagues put it best. He said “Anyone can write a check – but donating your time is better,” both for the recipient and the giver.

I am proud to work for such a charitable family of companies.

I look forward to volunteering at the next Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund event.”
