Corporate Finance Advisory & Broking
Advisory services for the quality middle market
CFE is retained adviser to clients across a variety of different sectors, listed either on the Official List or on AIM. We focus on the small to mid-cap section of the market.
Market value of a company is not the deciding factor for our engagement. We are much more interested in the quality of the management, the investment proposition and the steps towards building long-term value in a business.
Independent and innovative
CFE’s highly experienced team provides corporate clients with strategic advice to help them achieve their objectives. Our approach is best described as independent, innovative, value-added and timely. In the past three years, we have raised in excess of £1,000m on behalf of our corporate clients.
A dedicated brokerage resource
Meanwhile, our dedicated team of brokers works alongside our corporate finance, equity sales and trading teams. They form a crucial bridge between corporate clients and institutional investors. As well as providing day-to-day market intelligence and advice, they also organize one-off introductory meetings and non-deal and fund-raising roadshows.
For those UK-quoted companies that are of interest to US-based investors, we have a corporate broker, based in New York, who solely represents the interests of our clients.
Managing long-term investor support
CFE’s investor relations team works closely with our corporate brokers to help develop our clients’ share ownership. Through on-going analysis and investor targeting we aim to build a register of long term, supportive holders. Importantly, any likely sellers are also identified and actively managed.
CFE’s core strengths include:
- IPOs and associated fund raisings
- Secondary fund raisings
- Regulatory and strategic advice
- Acquisitions and disposals
- Public and private company mergers
- Public-to-private transactions, including Rule 3 advice
- Director/family and legacy shareholder share sales
- Private company placements, including pre-IPO funding

Our approach is grounded in a thorough and in-depth understanding of each company and its markets. The result is a research product that is timely, informative, proactive and authoritative.
